[UPDATE] I (28M) think my girlfriend (26F) of four years is going to leave me for her dying ex-boyfriend and first love.

That's what makes it worse. It wasn't a random drunk hook up. It was with an ex that she loved/loves. So there's feelings behind it. And she did it more than once. Yea he probably manipulated her. But she continued to go back. Knowing that she could ruin her relationship. Fuck cheaters. They don't deserve to be forgiven. Cheating is a choice. Not a mistake. She should have ended it with him if she still had feelings for her ex. Which she obviously does if she allowed him to manipulate her. Anyone that is over their ex wouldn't allow this. I'm not saying she shouldn't be compassionate for the guy that is possibly dying. But she didn't have to sleep with him. I had an ex cheat on me and got pregnant by her ex. Because she broke her leg and was on bed rest. I was at work for 48 hours.... I'm a fire fighter. She blamed me for not being off work to help her so she called him. Which is fine. But she allowed him to fuck her. That's where it's wrong. Again. Fuck cheaters. This dude probably shouldn't just bounce and quit his job. But definitely don't get back with her. She will do it again. You give them forgiveness and they think they got away with it and continue to do it. I know from personal experience. Women are possibly worse than men when it comes to cheating. Because a woman.....atleast most of them.....have to have some kind of connection with the person to have sex. Which makes it more intimate and worse than a random hook up. Fuck her.
