[Update] Actually Bought A Car

Well its your money. Theres a sucker born every minute, and If you choose to drive moneypits thats not my problem. I've driven new Mercedes Benz's and BMW's; they drive nice when theyre new but they are not worth the maintenance bills for how much you pay for them new. Audi's are glorified VW's and terrible however. The germans put all the fancy tech in their cars and have it break down, and then the Japanese come in and perfect it. Its always been like that. What's the point of having flashy tech and fancy build quality if it all breaks down rather quickly? The cars are meant for the rich, but I know rich people who have gotten rid of them because the maintenance costs of the super high end 7 Series and S classes does not warrant keeping them for "the tech". Im a purist. If a manufacturer is not offering both reliability or driving dynamics and just putting a bunch of gaudy wood trim and tech that will break down in 2 years, then I don't want to buy your car. That's what the 1990's BMW's and Mercedes are all about, they meet that medium and you don't have to pay a ridiculous price for buying them.

And if we look at German non luxury cars like Opel and VW, they don't stand a candle to a Toyota or Honda. VW is especially notorious for reliability issues in relation to electronics and poor transmissions. The Germans make overrated cars; it does not matter what these buffoon motor journalists that are paid to write puff pieces say. They will always be able to sell many units because of the brand image and vanity that surrounds owning a German Luxury car. If anyone with a brain wants to buy a good luxury car/normal car, I would always steer them in the direction of a Honda/Acura/Lexus/Toyota. If you want a weekend toy then buy a German car.
