[Update] EBS & Buster’s company deny that Choi Young Soo was abusive to Chaeyeon + now Park Dong Geun under fire for allegedly calling her derogatory names - AsianJunkie

Just because cancel culture exists doesn't mean that we should wield it unwisely in the same way that the beauty community did (aka during the JC/Tati/JS situation without full context, and Tati/others being unable to provide receipts for what was said.)

Considering things that happened with T-ara and others it's best to be upset, concerned, demand answers but wait to pitchfork completely until there's info from all sides/more clips and so on.

In the past the mods allowed the CLC situation previously mentioned to go on unhinged, and nothing bad was happening. In the past many communities allowed things like the T-ara situation to go on unquestioned, and the wrong person was painted as the victim.

By being patient and demanding in this situation, we found out shit was way worse, unfortunately. That's not bad. That's responsible fandom-ship. What has happened to some idols over the years before it turns out the opposite is true is horrible.

But now fans have the answers, rather than just speculation, and can use that information and facts instead of just "He might have slapped her/maybe they were horsing around" arguments to defend her, leverage for the company, show, PDs to do better and so on and for them to watch for these changes to happen on this show and others as time goes on.

If it had been playful, or something, and it was just poor taste playfulness, people could have leveraged for her to get more respect, and not emulate violence on a show etc too, but waiting prevents doxxing and so on and the sub doesn't allow that, and we had to clarify not to in some way.

Sorry, this is a really long explanation! I've been in the Kpop fandom for a long time and want to explain the plusses to give a brief pause and asking "What the fuck" before pitchforking either way about stuff and why we encurage that here in the sub both to uphold the rules, Reddit's Rules, and so on, and just incase something wasn't as bad as it seems to prevent something from becoming a bullying situation at our hand as well.

aaa so long :c
