FWIW, my Grandfather was kind of a flake. My mom raised me all by herself, and other than me flying to see him for a summer, I really didn't know him.
Fast forward to adulthood, and I realize that I'm fucked up for lack of male guidance, and being a semi-latchkey kid. He burned down his trailer because a squirrel ate through his electrical wiring, so he had to come live with us.
It was only then, that he apologized for not being involved more with me, and he knows he could have done something but didn't.
So I took money out of his wallet and bough Pizza. It was 30 bucks worth of Domino's.
Was it wrong? Absolutely.
Do I feel bad about it? Absolutely not.
RIP Karma :(
