[Update] The guy (29m) I'm (25f) dating and his friends "gatekeeped" me about my hobbies and career, I'm feeling embarrassed.

It all played out like it was supposed to.

What I mean by this is that you both need to learn from this, not just him. On what planet does ONE 25 YO woman go out to Hooters with a bunch of thirsty "code bros" and end up having a nice time?

They might all be decent people but together it's like their lack of social skills gets multiplied until you end up with a giant clusterfuck of awkwardness. It's like they are back in college all of a sudden.

The only reason this "occasion" happened in the first place is because Dan (aka thirsty code bro 1) wanted to show off his new prize GF to his bros. He was objectifying you the same way he would show off a sports car. And just like a sports car, they started asking performance questions, kicking the tires, etc...

You need to be better judge of how to spend your time, you never should have attended this. You can also learn how to dominate a situation like this instead of letting a bunch of code bros take you with the wind. Their egos crumble from the mildest pushback from women. "Listen up Chad, PJ and Squee over here are bored with your questions.....why don't you buy me a tequilla while I go to the ladies room." and just walk away leaving their mouths wide open.
