Update: my wife said something strange about her ex, and it's really getting to me (I'm 31M, she's 31F)

My last ex wasn't as conventionally attractive as most of the women I've dated, but for the most part we got along like a house on fire. One of my biggest joys in life is music, and not a particularly popular genre. This is what originally started our first conversation and she wound up hitting me up months after we'd met based solely on our one conversation about music. So while we were together we just started there and branched out. We had a ton in common and embraced our differences as best we could. Even though she wasn't as "good looking" as some of the women I'd been with before, I still thought she was gorgeous and that she just hung the moon. When we were out I never looked at another girl, and my mind never wandered when we were alone. I'd imagine it's like that for most people. If someone makes you happy, genuinely happy, it becomes incredibly easy for your mind to convince you someone is the bee's knees when they might not be the most attractive person.
