I am seeking the truth about my paternity. Submitted DNA to 23andMe only to find second cousins that are no way related to my father’s family. My sister and I know we have different fathers. Comparing her matches against mine, I was able to determine who was related on my paternal side.

My father died many years ago, testing him is not an option. His family has no contact with me. Yesterday my AncestryDNA kit arrived. Putting it in the mail tonight.

My sister worries about how the truth will affect my mother. She also worries what it could do to me if I am rejected by a new family.

Reading your post, I do not care if my outcome is murky and makes some people uncomfortable. I want the truth and a bit of closure. Like you, my mothers infidelity would not be surprising. However, I believe it is my right to know the truth, at the very least.

Good luck with everything. Your dad, the man that raised you, he sounds wonderful. You and your daughter are lucky to have a great male figure in your lives.
