Insuring someone who's mortality is > 20x higher than that of a regular person a nightmare, even worse is adding them to the general insurance pool and asking everyone else to pay the bill. This is not how insurance works, the general basis is:

we have a neighborhood of 20 houses all of which are in good condition, so we all setup a reserve by each paying $x per month and when someone has a problem they take money from this reserve.

What obama care does is allows an outsider whos not on our list of 20 whos house is currently on fire to come in and take our reserve without ever paying into it. It ignores the fundamental basis of insurance for the sake of arguments like "fairness" and "everyone deserves X and Y" Its not fair that someone can just come in and take the money that my pool and I have been saving, as a result we have to "top up" our reserve since outsiders keep depleting them. In order for assets match future liabilities, the only way to do this is to increase payments 4-5x, maybe more.
