Urban explorers of Reddit, what is your creepiest/ most horrifying experience?

My friends and I back in 2012 went to an abandoned psychiatric facility in Manteno, IL. The building was pretty barren with large rooms that bed used to be in for the patients. We met some other urban explorers that were leaving when we made it through most of the building. The experience left us wanting more.

Luckily for us the whole area used to be a campus with dozens of buildings that have either been repurposed or renovated into Veterans Care/ government buildings. There were also a few abandoned structures that were apparently for manufacturing. There was one that wasn't like the others. It was distanced far enough from the other buildings that we could explore without getting caught. Of course a storm started rolling in brought heavy winds with it.

We walked around the large 2 story building and found a door. We jokingly went to pull the door open and to our amazement it was unlocked. We went inside and we're greeted by a chair that's seat was literally covered in used needles. We shrugged it off and walked around some more. This is where it got creepy.

The wind from the storm was slamming this door on the 2nd floor over and over again. It was so loud it could be heard from outside. Looking around we noticed it was some kind of linen cleaning facility. There were large industrial sized dryers and a large conveyer system you see at the cleaners. There were 5 of us looking around in the first floor.

Then we realized one of our friends wasn't with us anymore. We called his name and began to freak out pretty fucking fast. He didn't answer. At this point we're thinking the worst, he could've fallen down one of these huge holes that they used to keep the chemicals in. These holes were about 10ft in diameter with mystery liquid in them, uncovered of course. No idea how deep they were. Or the person using the needles could have got him.

We started running in all directions calling out his name in panic. This went on for 5 or so dreadful minutes. We were on the verge of calling the police when his dumbass walks back into the building saying a bat flew at him and he ran out. I've never been so relieved to see someone alive. We laughed it off and decided to go check out the loud slamming door upstairs.

Upstairs looked like it was used for drying the clothing. At the end of the large hall was the slamming door. I couldn't describe the eeriness of seeing that door slamming over and over again making these LOUD booming slams on this large dark floor, lightening flashing and thunder cracking. We got to the door and it lead out to the roof. We went outside and checked out the roof and decided to gtfo because one of our friends could t handle it and stayed outside the building. We didn't want another person to be lost again. We left and always joke about going back, but fuck that. For all we know the person using the needles was in there with us the whole time. Sorry for the terrible grammar and formatting.
