US-Mexico border closed - does this apply to flights too?

The news here has my local intnl. airport in a state of collapse only 2 flights in and two flights out per week!!! (to & from MX City only all othe flights canceled until further notice)

About a month ago a friend of mine who was traveling to Memphis was called by the airlines and told his flight would be the last out of the airport for the states. He got bumped up and left 2 days ahead of schedule.

I live in a city of over one million people, this is a large international Airport we are talking about.

Draw your own conclusions. We Q'd on 20 March. The last tourists (we get A Lot of them) disappeared within a few days of that.

While I've not seen or heard it on the news I'm pretty damn sure there are zero people arriving on tourist visas. The entire city is shut down except gas stations & grocery stores.

Mexican authorities are taking the shelter-in-place thing very, very, seriously.

Good luck.
