[USA] [Michigan] Pickup truck crashes into left turner

Watching from the beginning of the video, it appears there is a big truck and a car in the left lane (NOT the left turn lane, which has stopped traffic in it) coming to a stop at the traffic signal. The left-turner in front of the cammer was already in the intersection, waiting to turn left.

Looking a Google Street View, these left turn lanes appear to both have protected lefts and left turn yields.

I think what happened is that the lights for cross traffic (relative to the cammer) were both green for the straights, so the left-turner was in the intersection waiting for a yield left-turn. The straight direction light for opposing traffic turned red, which explains the big truck stopping. Left-turner gets a green protected left turn arrow (traffic in his direction for straight keeps going, so they still have a green) and proceeds, his view of right-lane opposing traffic (where the pickup is) blocked by the truck. Pickup ran the light, resulting in a collision with the left-turner.

It's a little ambiguous, because the left-turner may have still had a yield when he proceeded with the left-turn, but I don't think so unless the yellow for straight traffic is REALLY long because the big truck was braking from the very beginning of the video. Pickup probably thought cross traffic would get the green and he could make it, unable to see the left-turner because of the big truck stopped in the left lane.
