[USA] Sideswiped while Splitting Lanes

Today on r/Roadcam: everyone thinks they're an expert because they read about it on the internet.

While lane filtering is somewhat legal in CA (I believe there was legislation introduced to make it 100% legal but I'm not sure what happened) crossing the double yellow line is a no no.

The video looks iffy but the motorcyclist appears to be fully in their lane and not on the double yellow. As opposed to the truck, who briefly crosses it for a second.

If you have to swerve to avoid another car: DON'T. Unless you know what's to the side you're going to swerve. Otherwise just take the hit so the person changing lanes into you is 100% at fault.

Of course, you still want to do your best to avoid an accident so drive defensively and expect the unexpected.
