USA vs Netherlands

The thing about US healthcare costs/coverage is it varies widely from state to state. There’s Medicaid but many states have ACA plans that can provide free coverage to people who wouldn’t qualify for Medicaid.

I have full medical, Rx, and dental coverage with no deductible or copay through my state’s insurance exchange. I’m employed, making a modest but livable wage and still qualify (the single income limit is $50k). I don’t pay a cent for it. Obviously it’s built into taxes but I’m definitely more than fine with that if it helps a wide section of the population get coverage.

I’m sure it isn’t the most efficient system and I dislike the way it ultimately subsidizes some very corrupt private insurance companies, but it does provide coverage. I would definitely prefer proper universal healthcare in this country.
