I'll tell you this much:

A PC is useful for a lot of things other than gaming. If you can think of even two reasons why a PC would be useful to you in ways a PS4 wouldn't, get the PC.

That being said.

In two and a half decades of video gaming, Horizon: Zero Dawn is one of the top three best games I've ever played.

The graphics are near-flawless, like you wouldn't believe. If you put a live-action movie on a two-year-old TV and put Horizon on a brand-new, High-Def TV right next to it, you'd think the game was more lifelike than the movie.

Related: the game's story, characters, and setting are the best I've seen in three or four years, easy. I think it's because the people and environments look so damn realistic, it's so easy to forget it's a video game and not real. I honest-to-god cried over the last scene before the credits.

The gameplay is so addicting. The skill tree and level progression balances so well with the opening of the greater world around you that things that feel like a challenge on early levels make you feel triumphant when you kick said challenge's ass a few levels later. It never stops being satisfying, not all the way to the end of the game.

I'll leave you with this: there's enough cliffhangers and loose ends at the close of the story that I'm almost completely certain there will be a sequel. If you don't get the game, you might damn well wish you had in two years.
