Usage of English loanwords in Korean makes me so sad. Can anything be done to reverse this trend?

In point of fact, "Singlish" is the unique dialect of actual English, influenced by Singapore's mother-tongues such as Hokkien, Cantonese, Malay, and Tamil, that Singaporeans use when speaking English informally. And it is lovely. The world would be a shabbier place if Singlish (and Manglish) disappeared. People there already speak Standard English quite well when they have to.

As far as Korean goes, you can speak it without any English words if you like. If you know an indigenous or Sino-Korean words for "shirt", let me know because I haven't found one yet. But most Koreans will go on using English terms if that's what they want to do, and there's nothing the Gungnip Gugeowon can do about it. The Real Academia Española or the Académie Française, or any other national language authority in the free world for that matter, can't stop people either. And that's fine. Korean belongs to the Koreans who speak it, not to their government.
