I used to work at a Vietnamese Cafe (Yes, Those coffee shops) AMA

  1. I was introduced to work there by a friend who was already working there. I left because I finished college and moved to another state.

  2. The base wage was $20-25 an hour. Tips depend on the girl and how involved she wants to be, everything from how she dressed to how flirty she is with customers etc. Sometimes tips come in the form of gifts. I would say the tips are probably 2-3 times of what the hourly wage is.

  3. The customers are mostly Asian- the younger ones speak English, the older ones are usually Vietnamese/Chinese. There can be a language barrier if the girl working doesn't speak either language, but there are others who work there who can converse in both languages.

  4. My family did not know I was working there.

  5. I had friends come in all the time, it wasn't a problem and were always respectful because they know me.
