Useful Info

As someone in a high-salary corporate job that DIDN'T go to school or university, I can promise you starting your career without a degree can be overly time consuming and having a BA (or equivalent) will give you a significant heads start in most careers.

I'm not saying this guide is wrong as trade jobs are super important but generally you have to wait years being paid apprentice wages in the hope of a job at the end of it. Even then, for the big money you'll just end up moving into a large organisation if you are chasing high renumeration and those organisations either look for a minimum qualification (usually BA) or a significant amount of experience/industry certification and/or professional memberships, just to get a foot in the door.

I don't regret not getting a university degree and I've had a great 30 year career with the hope of retiring 5-10 years early but I'm hiring grads on £40k (UK tech) a year, most of which aren't specialising in the areas they'll be working in.

For those who ask, those aren't city rates either.
