Users of Ancestry..com, what weird stuff have you discovered about your family history?

Filling out forms online, and sharing FAMILY DNA, that is pretty similar.

You may not understand this, but the same analyses that can link your great-great-great-great uncle up and down different marriages to someone 'famous'... LINKS YOU, the same fucking way. They don't have your DNA, but they have your aunt's DNA, your brother's DNA, your cousin's DNA, etc., and they can derive information about YOUR DNA from certain assumptions. A bit like data mining your buying habits, indexed from your credit cards.

YOUR NAME comes up in those searches, because 'someone' is pecking this information in (OVER-SHARING) 'for you'.

Not JUST in this one 'ancestry.com' site. In all of the 'family tree' sites, selling and re-selling their information to each other.
