You don't need a variety as long as you run towards your WRs. Basically, Barry (like most HBs) thrives on having options, but more so than usual. If your opponent knows where you're running and you don't have room to juke or spin, then you're just up shit creek without a blocker. HOWEVER, Barry will reward you when he's allowed to cut between gaps, force your opponent to overcommit to one running path, or just outright dodge poorly placed hitsticks. Running towards 2-3 good blocking WRs accomplishes a few things: Your opponent's formation probably prevented him from shifting corners towards the box because he can't leave wideouts uncovered. This will make your offensive tackle a happy little freight train, bowling over the first linebacker to go for Barry. Locked-up CBs will provide predictable and defined running lanes when you emwant to make the cut upfield. Assuming that all blocks are made and your tackle just Oher'd the outside linebacker, then your opponent will typically switch to user the incoming free safety. Several things could happen: Your opponent chooses to cover the outside edge and prevent you from reaching the sidelines. Bad things happen here if the Strong Safety or MLB are super fast, as you'll have to cut towards them and find some magic jukes real quick. He covers an inner lane. Fuck him, you're using BARRY GODDAMN SANDERS! Seriously, unless he's using GT Taylor, you're faster. Beat him to the sidelines and laugh about your 30+ yard run. He hangs back a bit. Nobody does this, but you'd theoretically get a short gain before the heat seeker assist fucks up your day. Try not to fumble. You somehow end up using the same running lane. Just press B. Seriously, you'll break his ankles and have time to showboat if you perform it properly. Practice against the All-Madden AI before trying this in H2H though. Those receivers become excellent resources on fakes! If your opponent is forced to commit his user to your run game AT THE LEAST, then your WRs will absolutely murder him on PA, crossing routes, or verts. Wait... Do you smell that cheese? Because of this, I use the Gun Trio Formation out of the Seahawks O. It features inside zone, screens, trap, counter, PA Post Shot, Flood, Mesh, and Option concepts that will allow Barry to decimate the defense along with Manziel's dual threat potential.
