Alright. I got bored and actually went out to my car to try to recreate the "V" using a q-tip.

Some limitations:

*I used gel food coloring, not blood, so it's a bit thicker. *I am left-handed, so I doubt I could get the swiping motion exactly. *I wanted to swab on the plastic(?) interior of my car, but it's a dark charcoal color so it wasn't showing up in pictures. I switched to the tan leather console area, which isn't the same type of surface in the rav4.

With that out of the way, the two pictures I've seen of the blood stains look planted. We have the "V" next to the ignition/steering wheel, and then we have the horizontal line in the rear of the car.

It's been annoying me because in what universe does blood drip horizontally? And the blood by the steering wheel looks like it has two start marks and two stop marks. So, I messed around, and this is what I was left with: Imgur

Again, I globbed it on a lot thicker than the blood in evidence photo. With that being said, I think we all assumed that if it was planted with a q-tip, the "start" marks were the inner dot shapes, and the q-tip was rotated outward to make an arch. In my picture, that's the top V.

However, if you look at the evidence photo, particularly the right side of the "V" shape, you'll notice that there is a thicker band of darker blood. I noticed that I could recreate that effect if I started outward and swirled inward. I was actually able to replicate it almost exactly doing it that way, but I ended up cleaning it up because at that point I had too many swipes all over my console and I was afraid no one would know what to look at.

Unfortunately, since I kept doing it so many times my q-tip also got pretty soggy and useless which is why these swab marks are so thick. I'll have to try it again with a different substance...I made quite the mess and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get the color out of my leather so I stopped rather than go get a fresh Q-tip.

But as shitty as my recreation is, after seeing that I could make the color gather at the top of the arc like in the evidence photo just by changing the direction of the swipe, I became more convinced that the blood was planted.
