It's different different places, here we could probably pick between 10 or so trash companies. We like the local family owned one even though they are almost impossible to get a hold of, have an old fashioned answering machine, no website, nor email :D.

That said we've only had to contact them a few times in maybe 15 years. And when we moved I felt bad cause they kept coming up to the garage to get the bin even though we didn't take it out cause it barely had anything in it. After a month I was going to call but then I guess they realized we knew what we were doing, just didn't generate much trash, not that we forgot it was trash day at the new place and stopped lol. I applaud their effort and commitment tho!
