People here are pretty independent. Do what you want and others will follow. If they don't, doesn't matter cuz you're already doing what you wanted to do in the first place.

When you're new to the city you gotta put in the effort to find people. Be straight up with your intentions, and be ready for lots of people to come and go. That's the nature of this city with students, actors, and entrepreneurs; not everyone is going to last forever.

Took me 5 years before I formed a decent social circle where people aren't leaving every year or 2. Now we're all married or in relationships so the dynamics have changed, but that's life I guess! Good luck with your journey.
