Vancouver police want almost $285 million or one-fifth of entire 2018 city operating budget

The problem isn't police officers. The problem is the auxiliary bullshit jobs. I've been working in my industry for ~10 years. The comparable job at VPD pays more over $10 an hour more...STARTING. Plus, better benefits, OT, etc.

I already have a good career...How the fuck are they paying people that much?

I've heard people making ~$40 an hour in IT. MY ex was what you'd call a "VPD family" with half a dozen of her family members working for them in several different capacities and they were all making double what they would be making in the private sector. THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE BENEFITS!!!

I've shared this link a few times, but look at any of the other Crown corps. Everyone working for government is making an obscene amount of money. Things really need to change.
