I’ve felt this way for a while now, but after last weeks episode I started really hoping it will happen. Lala really needs to be called out for her cultural appropriation. A very prominent black public figure needs to articulately and not viciously call her out for her problematic behavior. It’s not just cultural and the way she acts anymore; more and more I see her styling her hair and wearing makeup in ways that really toes the line on appropriation. From past experiences with her getting called out, it doesn’t matter how famous the person is (remember what happened with Jennifer Lawrence), their tone and way they call her out is just as important. She hasn’t a tendency to just bite back and accuse people of being jealous of her.
