I went to Notre Dame law, and actually graduated with Barret's husband. The amount of mental gymnastics that went on there was obscene. One Professor actually argued to me that the fact the former Pope got something wrong was proof Catholicism was the one true faith, because it had survived the error. I was too gobsmacked to ask him if that meant every still existing religion was also correct. I honestly don't think he would have comprehended the question.
The asshole also took full credit for RICO because he'd been involved in drafting it, despite no Court ever actually agreeing with his interpretations of what the statute was meant to do.
