No but in all seriousness I believe would rather live in a world where people are condemned for not doing the maximum than one where doing average is considered ok. I think supererogatory behavior seems like a nice concept. But I don't know how you could consistently apply any standard to distinguish between what you should do and what it would be nice for you to do. It seems like this standard requires much more assumptions than that for maximizing utility.

But this is probably all a personal thing, I would personally much rather hold myself to the highest standard possible and fail than hold myself to reasonable standard and succeed.
