Sorry if I hijacked the top comment but i just want to say I was between the unlucky who got measles when I was 10 months old and it is the reason I'm deaf to the right years.

I was unlucky because my mother considered vaccines like the wonderful invention they are but I got ill before I was old enough to get the vaccine.

Measles can kill you but can also permanently damage your kid.

My life is almost normal but I have difficulties I would rather not have. My balance is compromised and I'm unable to locate sound direction and I get unreasonably scared when I get an ear infection on my good ear.

Thanks to my mother I always considered the fact I can sleep on my good ear in every situation as a super power but I'm getting older and I'll never know how a normal people hear.

Why would you expose your kid something like that?
