VCU coach Will Wade in discussions with LSU

I don't think he "might just like LSU". You're also highly mistaken if you think it's a better job than Shaka got. Texas athletics are the most valuable in all of college sports. They have their own TV network and a crazy amount of resources.

I get what you're saying, but why would he leave VCU to completely start over and rebuild another program? VCU was in great shape when he got here, and LSU certainly isn't a step up from VCU.

And it's not a joke, former VCU coaches have failed when they leave VCU. Capel had an Elite Eight with OU and Blake Griffin, but got fired a couple years later. Grant made the NCAA tournament once in six years and was fired. Shaka is currently in full rebuilding mode at Texas, and this season tied the record for their most losses ever.

Wade can sit tight for another 2-3 years, have won over 100 games, and leave for a program that is top 3 in their conference in resources. There's no point in going there unless they offer him so much money in salary that he just simply can't turn it down.
