I’ve been vegan for 8 years and my parents still can’t ever remember

I get that. Along with..."It's just green beans" Me: "plain?" Them: "Just some butter on them. You can eat butter right?" ....sigh....

I mean I CAN eat it. Being a vegan (for me anyways) feels like people think I have some sort of allergy and will need to go to the ER if I eat it. lol

I have been Vegan now 6 years. If they ONLY KNEW how far vegans go to avoid any and all forms of cruelty to animals. It doesn't stop at just food. It is a complete lifestyle change.

Just stay calm and know you are doing your part. We can't "make" anyone understand why we choose this lifestyle and it's too exhausting to keep repeating ourselves, as your are finding out.

Chin up! :)
