The vegan option served at a fancy end of conference dinner.

When my friend got married and I was in the wedding I called the venue multiple times leading up to the event, months ahead and days prior, and the wedding coordinator assured me the kitchen would have a vegan dinner option for me. My friend the bride is very sweet and told me she was worried about me having food so she confirmed with the venue as well. Well the night of the reception comes and the vegan meal served to me is…a plate of steamed vegetables. Like zucchini, tomato, and eggplant. Don’t get me wrong I love veggies but I’d been involved in wedding activities since the morning with very little to eat, plenty of alcohol had been supplied by that point, and was I starving…I wanted some potatoes at least.

This is in contrast to an awards dinner I went to in college, I requested a vegan option ahead of time and was given a delicious pasta primavera type dish. Everyone at my table actually thought it looked better than whatever they had been given
