Was the veil even a thing before lightfall?

Pretty much everything we know about the Veil points to it being tied to the Datkness. It could also have a connection to the Light, but that’s less clear.

It’s described as an ‘artifact of Darkness’ in Warp and Weft, it’s presence in Neomuna allows us to access the Weave and use Strand (a Darkness power), it allows the Neomuni to transfer their consciousnesses into the CloudArk (consciousness being linked with the Darkness), and it’s described by Bungie as a ‘window into the mind and memory of the universe’ (memory being linked with the Darkness).

All in all, the Veil is clearly of the Darkness, and how it’s connected to the Traveler is a bit of a mystery still.
