That’s a really fair comment but actually he didn’t know the first day back until a day or two before when we looked it up online. I completely understand what you’re saying though! Maybe he should have tried harder to be there. His work is strict and wouldn’t have been able to take day off at such short notice and then we would have had to drive over 140 miles (round trip) to see her in the morning. I know distance shouldn’t matter though, I know that.
