Lots of masks still in my blue California beach town as of tonight. Lots of young folks (college/20s aged) still walking around outdoors with their diapers on. Saw some families at the beach dipping their toes in the ocean with masks on while far away from other families. I don’t see many people being comfortable taking them off ever again in my town. The mask has become such a new cultural standard of “respect” in blue cities especially. They should have never become normalized. They are anything but normal. It’s appalling and sickening to me to see people walking around in clear, sunny, weather with masks on in June 2021 after the mandates have been repealed. People just love the masks so much, it’s so strange to me.
