A very close call last night in North Dallas. Texas summer storms come with strong winds that cause things like this to happen. Please be careful out there at night.

This happened tonight, Just about an hour ago. Was driving Westbound on PGBT around Marsh Ln, driving along happily until something struck my Windshield. Scared the ever loving fucking fuck out of me until it clicked about 2 seconds later what I just hit. The sign was face down so I was unable to see any reflection off of it and it wasn't blocking any of the reflectors on the barrier.

I got home, watched the dashcam footage, and literally covered my mouth and had an "Oh my fucking god" moment when I realized just how close I had come to potentially some serious final destination shit. If I hadn't drifted to the right the foot or two I had (it was windy), that sign would have gone through my windshield completely.

I will never ever drive next to a barrier at night in a construction zone ever again unless it's my only option.

It shattered my windshield and punched a hole through it in the top left hand corner. It also significantly damaged my A-pillar, and some damage along the side of the vehicle. Covered me in glass dust and chunks of glass. I pulled off, called 911 cause that sign was an imminent danger to any motorist and could easily kill a biker. Tollway authority took a report, State trooper called me back and took a report. By the time they were able to move the sign both myself and another vehicle had struck it.
