Very good piece, if you want to understand a eastern european perspective a little bit more and how you just can not judge everything through american optics.

I just didn't get it. On the one hand it recognises that eastern European countries sought out Nato membership to escape Russias imperialist reach, but at the same time it argues that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is Natos fault for letting those countries join? Sounds like bullcrap to me, if anything the Ukraine invasion proves that e. E. countries where right to want protection because those that couldn't join are poised to be next.

Putins own rethoric suggests his imperialistic ambitions and Lukashenko even admitted that that is indeed what Putin wants (Quote: "Can you blame him for wanting something?"). That is incompatible with the notion that the invasion is just a reaction to western politics.
