Very well researched video convinced me to go back to the gym

If you're so desperate for something why would you care if it's boring?

I'm not going to be able to explain it adequately and you aren't going to accept "just trust me, this is my reality."

Just do it. Stop making excuses.

Oh geez, of course! It's so simple!

Yeah, gyms aren't expensive. I know, because I had a membership. You'll recall where I wrote that I quit going to the gym recently? Well I can't quit going if I wasn't going in the first place. So I'm aware of what it costs to go to a gym.

Set some base level goals that you can reach.

That's very helpful, yes. Before I was going just to mope around and be sad all the time. I see now that I need to have a real goal. I never though of that before.

If you don't even work out changing your diet will help immensely.

Oh man, I've also never tried that. Even when I wrote about how my weight loss had plateau'd, weight loss which is known to be primarily affected by diet. I'm aware of how diet and weight loss works.

If you REALLY are going to put effort into this then PM me and I can tell you exactly what my meal plan and workout split is, and tell you how it has worked for me.

Naw, I'm good. I prefer to deal with people who don't come at me initially with "stop making excuses" without knowing the first thing about me. You have no idea what my particular challenges are, but you seem to just be assuming that they're all "excuses". I don't respond well to that and I have no interest in going further with those who hold such narrow views.

You need intrinsic motivation.

I have motivation. I can't get around the boredom which can become so intense it feels like torture, to me. Again, I can't make you understand this because, to you, this is just "an excuse". You're not me, you can't understand what my experience is.

HEMA

A cursory look at this makes it seem like it's something you do with some kind of sparring partner. That's a kind of competition, to me and so it's not my bag, but I appreciate the recommendation anyway. I didn't actually know HEMA existed and I value having learned that today, that's actually pretty cool.
