Veteran player - quitting the league after 2 weeks and a mirror

I hesitated to even respond here as the volatility of this Reddit makes me assume doing so is going to bring me hate for sharing specific details.

But I’m doing so because we are in very similar situations.

This league I also rolled BL Heirophant, crushed the game, became very rich. I am also a veteran having played every league since Beta, and the only concrete goal I have every league is hitting 40/40, outside of that I do make other goals for myself. Whether it be a mirror target, or specific other accolades. This league my goal was to hit top 5 on Heirophant SC ladder, ended up hitting no.1 on the ladder after an intense race with no.2.

The reason I am bringing this up is because I enjoy this league and every other because of these goals I set, with this much time invested the ‘normal’ content just isn’t challenging (fully delirious t19 included).

What I can say is that my goal has never been “watch stat on gear number go up to x”. That goal, however, is very prominent in PoE and has been since harvest when it was achievable to set such a ridiculous goal of having perfect gear in every slot. GGG has repeatedly shown that they do not want that extreme of customisation outside of an extremely (expensive) play style. It can still be done, but it’s probably the hardest goal out there now.

So after probably convoluted post, I guess what I am trying to say is - if you are setting goals in PoE you probably don’t want those goals to be perfect crafts unless your goal is also to acquire ridiculous wealth, because GGG has shown that to be their vision. But there are other goals out there and if you really love the game, there is still wealth of knowledge to gain after 7 years.

If none of it sounds good, then hopefully I will see you next league and if not I hope you find a game that scratches the itch.
