Victims of Home Invasion, what is your story?

Was my day off, husband was at work. I took the kids to school I the morning, went back home for a few hours, left around 2:00 to run errands and pick up the kids, back home with 3 unruly children and a car full of groceries. I managed to unlock the front door while juggling an armload odd bags and yelling at said children. I stepped into the living room as the kids ran past me to the rec room. Nothing looked right. The tv was gone and the shelf it was on was askew. I set the bags on the couch trying to make sense of what i was seeing when the kids came running into the room saying there was glass all over the floor and their PlayStation was gone. That's when it hit me. We had been robbed. I was in shock. If you looked at our house from the outside, it would have been the last house you would think to rob, plain Jane 3 bedroom rambler. I called my husband at work and told him what had happened, hew came home right away. I called 911 right after, the officer took 45 minutes to arrive, dusted for fingerprints and told us the suspect was probably wearing gloves and he couldn't do much for us. We lost 2 tv's, several game. consoles, a great stereo, and several rare collectibles and my emerald engagement ring. Fortunately they didn't find the pistol, God knows why. I noticed they had moved one of our 70's Pioneer speakers, but those weigh almost 100 pounds each so they must have figuered they weren't worth the work. For weeks after, my 2 boys would cover what they believed was important to them in their room and set booby traps. That was almost 20 years ago and i still think about it. That violation of our home, the loss of security of my children. We believe it was a guy who came to buy a motorcycle from us who we let in our house and he saw what we had. No way to prove it. Getting robbed fucking sucks.
