The video that stopped Jordan Peterson making sense to me

I think understanding Jordan Peterson's points might be helpful in making sense of what's being said (by the way - not a big fan of the downvotes you've received, so here's an upvote).

At the beginning, he's comparing the Evolutionary and Factual perspectives of live and value. To break this down, I think an analogy might be useful.

Imagine you were aware of some catastrophic truth, that not everyone was aware of. The weight of knowing that truth, although true, may weigh on you in a way that negatively effects your biological mission to survive/reproduce.

Here's a terrible analogy, that hopefully illustrates the point well. Imagine, for whatever reason, you need to cross a beam, like a tight rope, to survive. If you knew something horrible was right behind you, it could either amplify the speed at which you cross the tight rope, or excite your nerves to the point where you fall off.

In the former case, knowing the truth of your pursuer is good. In the latter, it kills you. Either way, it may kill you, or help you. But it may kill you.

I'm reaching a little, but the point is there (I think).

Now imagine any scenario where knowing a truth may be detrimental to survival. Maybe knowing which calendar day you die will ruin your life (depression affects offspring affects survival). If you use your imagination, you can maybe find more examples.
