Vietnamese Tunnels

We lost the war because we didn't succeed in our initial objective when we went to vietnam. But looking at the numbers, it's hard to make any kind of an argument that they fared particularly well against us in terms of actual fighting. I mean they did in that they defended themselves from being essentially conquered. But when you're looking at a death toll that is 20-1 in favor of the more modern fighting force, there's a reason people scoff at a boots on the ground insurgency as you put it. And that was decades ago, our military was nowhere near where it is now and w were using draftees rather than a fully enlisted and trained fighting force. The gap will only keep widening between what a modern fighting force is against an insurgency.
