Lawyer, lawyer, lawyer up yesterday, for the love of Matt Murdock! You’re way beyond LA’s pay grade. You will have a public defender if you can’t afford someone, but at least shop around for criminal lawyers who offer pro bono service and/or payment plans. Try your local or state Bar Association’s website, many are searchable. Some even have a free lawyer referral service that you can filter by price range. A lot of criminal lawyers will have a variety of ways for clients to pay - they need the work, and it’s a competitive field.

The fact that you grabbed the phone and put her in a headlock...doesn’t look good for you, sorry. A plea deal is probably the best you can hope for unless your lawyer finds some REALLY foolproof evidence (e.g. a security video of the whole thing showing it happened EXACTLY as you say) or some point of law that can help. (I’m a lawyer, just not a criminal lawyer.)
