I've lived in a US city my whole life and never once been in a situation where I've needed a gun. Needed to defend myself? Sure. But never a gun.

I'm with you on this. The gun culture of the US is total bullshit. I can say with absolute certainty that public mass shootings and school shootings will plague the US until its end. Honestly, with economic desperation getting worse, I would not be surprised if it increases to a handful each month.

But you're not going to turn Americans against their precious guns. It's like a religion here. They think of every excuse, cherry pick data, and perform feats of mental gymnastics to try and justify their continued widespread availability. The US is a cautionary tale for every future government.
