The vitriol Mattea receives online is disgusting

The thing I've noticed about Mattea that I find to be most annoying, call it a quirk or a character trait, is that she seems to be surprised an awful lot when she knows an answer and/or she'll act hesitant when answering questions as if she's not so sure of herself. Now yes, this can happen to the best of players, every once in a while, but with her it seems to be an almost constant theme and to me it is annoying. Not only when she does it but when other players do so as well. Here's why; IMO why on earth would you be so hesitant/surprised about providing an answer when it's a show you have chosen to be on. Specifically a quiz show that you have chosen to be on. In other words, you made the decision to be on an extremely popular nationally aired TV quiz show so presumably one would think that you would only do this if you A. believed you could perform well enough to not embarrass yourself and B. that you would also presumably be someone who does well at trivia already. So why always act like you're surprised when you get an answer right? Like I said, I can understand being unsure of your answer every once in a while, but all the time? I can totally see how people could also see that as being arrogant. Especially after you've proven to be a strong player with multiple wins it becomes even more annoying. It would be like if Tom Brady gave a quizzical look every time he makes a successful pass or a touchdown play, like, Wow! I didn't know that would happen, how did I do that? I can only guess that maybe some contestants do that in an effort to seem humble or less like a know-it-all, I'm not sure, but in reality it just comes across as being wishy washy and I get terribly annoyed by it. Answer with confidence, or why would you choose to be on this show if you couldn't?
