Vivid images in my head

Can you take a second and read this post I made on /r/suicidewatch?

I think you can see that we are very, very alike. Which makes me suspect that there are tens of millions of other people who are very, very much like us. Lost motivation. Drive gone. Does that mean we kill ourselves? No.

Are you familiar with the concept of altruistic suicide? You probably are if you've thought on the subject as much as I have (which I suspect to be the case). The conclusion I've reached: it's bullshit. Even if the rest of our lives were spent in the exact situation that you and I find ourselves in now it would not add up to how they would feel (note: I think this falls under "tough love", which is against the rules of the sub, so I'll stop there).

Now here's the beautiful part: the rest of our lives are NOT going to be spent like this. You get shitty grades. I get shitty grades. Who gives a fuck? Us, obviously. Our parents, yeah.

But we'll be done with school one way or another and onto something COMPLETELY AND ABSOLUTELY DIFFERENT, regardless of if our GPA is a 4.0 or a 0.0.

That's what you and I need to be looking forward to, with excitement, trepidation, hell maybe even a little bit of fear. Those are pretty damn good motivators you've got to admit.

I feel you with the "I hurt my parents. They can't bear to see me suffer". Kind of a catch-22 ain't it? They're sad because we're sad and we're sad because they're sad?

Well hell man someone's got to break the cycle and it's not going to be them. Let's brainstorm this out. What do you have difficulties with in academia? I'm guessing our problems are pretty similar and two heads are better than one.

As for someone telling you're broken, who the fuck says that? Disregard them, anyone who says that is out to hurt people and believe me, that dude is way more fucked up than the two of us put together.
