Why is Void special for you?

Very nice answer, a couple of questions points I'd like reviewing though:

Source & binary distro Let's be realistic here, void is a binary distro, xbps-src is meant for development, cross-building and compiling restricted software which can't be redistributed as binary. You need some serious cross-compiling framework like Gentoo's portage or FreeBSD's ports to define a software distribution a 'source distro' Dracut What do you like about it when compared with initramfs-tools and mkinitcpio? BSD- like (as far GNU Linux can be) But again, what is a BSD-like system meant to be like? I'd bet many *BSD users would find it hard to answer this question, starting from how much BSDs differ from each other
