Voluntary Release Possible

Dude I was in charge of a PAT platoon and it made me want to release. Stick it out for a bit until you get out of that shitty environment, it'll chang your perspective. Being in the military isn't going to be like 25 years of PAT platoon. I totally understand this and that's why its not the PAT life that's the issue. Its mainly that I applied awhile ago, started doing things while waiting that I was getting into, and then when the offer came it was relatively quick with a short turn around and people all around me were saying I should go for it, so I did. Now a little bit down the road I'm realising that I would have preferred to stay the path I was on previously now that I've had time to reflect. As I've said before in this thread, I know what it means to have signed my contract and I'm willing to sit it out if I need to. Worst case, live in shacks, don't buy a mustang or go out drinking every weekend. You can save a lot of money for school and start your post degree life relatively debt free. This is my plan if I end up having to wait out my contract. I should be able to build up a nice little nest egg to go back to school with, and maybe even polish off a few online courses during my time. I just think if my end goal is what it is my time would be better spent pursuing that and letting someone who wants to do this as a career have the position I'd be occupying.
