I did this. They have a list from the city of various complaints that need to be fixed or cleaned up, and they range from menial to laborious to dangerous.

There were days we’d get taken to various corners of the city, often main thoroughfares, and pick up trash and weed the medians. We weren’t expected to work particularly fast, and we stopped for leisurely lunches in parks (if you got the ‘cool’ leader for the day).

Other times people were taken to the TL and made to clean up back alleys, i.e. needles and feces. When I heard some folks got stuck with that I downright refused and was shocked other people actually followed their orders.

I had an acquaintance tell me one time he was made to go to a homeless camp and start clearing away everything into a truck, and he was talking about having to rip tents straight off of people’s backs and not having anything he could say while they screamed in his face (understandably).

TL;DR : it’s a gamble. Possible to be harmless, but I’d keep the cash handy in case you want to bail out last minute.
