Vpn and college.

I download some files but not torrents. I'm also using it to practice pentesting on my safe environment through virtual machines.

YouTube and Facebook are allowed on campus that's not a problem.

What I'm mostly concerned about is some of the IT people are just kids 18+ years old. They are students I don't know what they will do but they are still learning. So I'm more afraid of my passwords or bank account info being taken.

The IT tools they have can help them take something they're not supposed to but I don't know if they would (not everyone is the same) I just want to have a protection on my end that helps me mitigate any problems later on and help me figure out where a problem on my system is or my security.

The pc is my own bought with my money. The security is set by me. I'm not planning to do anything that I'm not supposed to I'm following the rules as they have been layed out. If I wanted to torrent I could but I avoid it since it is a school. I'm also learning on my pc through sites like udemy and coarsera and edx. So the vpn is just a protection for me.

I also chose expressvpn since it doesn't pass anything through tor (tor could be a problem on campus) so I chose a vpn based on it not connecting through things like tor that could raise red flags anywhere for anyone.
