VTTs kept interest in this game during the pandemic. Now Wizards is trying to kill them.

My Feedback?

I started with: "I will not accept any attempt to reauthorize or revoke OGL 1.0a. This is the only OGL Survey I will be taking, and if you can't get it right this time, I will not be purchasing Hasbro/WotC products in the future.

The best outcome? OGL 1.0a is left alone, and One D&D / 6th edition is published under ORC."

Question 6: "This is a step in the right direction, but it doesn't solve or make up for the problems in the rest of the document."

Question 8: I repeated my initial statement.

Question 11: (In brief) SRDs released under the license should not replace one another but instead, be cumulative. There should not be a separate policy for VTTs. Remove the "clever" redefinition of irrevocable; the whole license must be irrevocable with no qualifiers. The licensee and the license should have to play by the same rules; if WotC breaches a provision, the licensee should have the same avenues of recourse available that WotC enjoys.

Question 16: (In brief) Subsection f is far too broad and we do not trust WotC with the power to determine what is hateful.

Question 18: There is no need for a VTT policy at all. If WotC wants to enter the VTT space, they should compete for users on the merit of their VTT, not by stifling the development of other VTTs.

Question 22: Because it's a bad deal for all the reasons I stated under the other questions in this survey. In addition, WotC should not be allowed to declare the license void. Sections 9(e) and 9(g) are anti-consumer. I understand that these are standard clauses under contract law, but that doesn't mean this practice is ethical.

Question 26: I think the design of these creator badges is a bit ugly, to be honest.

Other Feedback: Y'all fucked up bad. It'll take a lot to get the goodwill of the gaming community back. I was excited for One D&D before any of this happened and defended WotC before I saw the full text of OGL 1.1. Now? I'm ready to walk away.

The best way forward is for WotC to publish One D&D / 6th edition under the ORC license. This shows that you want to be a part of the TTRPG community by being willing to play by the same rules as everyone else. It would reestablish trust. Quiet honestly, that's the power move you need to make to get back the fans you've lost over the past few weeks.
