Wackiest Rescue/Shelter/Rehome Experience

I was denied a dog from a private rescue. I believe the reasoning is that I brought my resident dog to meet this dog (they got along fine) at the rescue coordinator's home, and the rescue coordinator thought that my dog looked anxious there. My dog is in fact a very noise sensitive dog, but he was not particularly anxious at the meet and greet. The rescue coordinator then asked if I give my dog anxiety meds, and I said no. She then asked what I have against "helping my dog with medication", and I said nothing, but it's easy enough for us to avoid his triggers and it doesn't significantly impact quality of life, so I don't think he needs it. Prior to asking me about the anxiety meds, the rescue coordinator made it sound like I was definitely going to get the dog, and after I said that, she told me that "something came up" and they couldn't give me the dog after all. I thought it was a bit strange given that all this seemed based on very specific context I know way more about than the rescue coordinator about my own dog that I've had for a decade, but oh well, what're you going to do.
